Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂)

TiO₂ is a non-toxic, biocompatible, semi-conductive, and inexpensive material with high dielectric constant and chemical stability. Depending on its composition, this metal oxide can provide a range of electrical conductivity due to oxygen deficiency. As UV- absorbent, TiO₂ is widely used as a white-color pigment. Thanks to its electrical properties, TiO₂ is used as a photo-catalyst for environmentally-friendly and green-chemistry purposes. It can also be used as an additive to detoxify the building surfaces and self-cleaning purposes.
